Located and Designed in Ottawa, Canada at Carleton University

The Ottawa Cultural Center for New Canadians creates a world that disrupts the monotony and homogeneity of downtown Ottawa. Passing the rectilinear boundaries of the street block into the site brings one into the diagonal intersection of the main structures: the concrete roof of the subterranean LRT station and the metal slopes of the primary gathering space. The space outside of and inside of the crossing encourages a dynamic flow through the site and buildings. It provides an environment that promotes interaction between the various cultures representing the increasing diversity of Ottawa.
